Haman and his sons met their end on the gallows meant for the Jewish people, and the persian people rejoiced in harmony restored. It was a triumph of courage over cruelty, light over darkness.
Just like that ancient villain, the evil Haman and his clan find their modern echo in Ayatollah Khamenei and the mullah regime. History repeats itself with uncanny precision. Persia today’s Iran was never the true enemy, but rather the tyrannical cabal that poisoned its soul. In those days, a Jewish queen sat beside the emperor, and Jews lived in peace among Persians. King Cyrus the Great freed the Jews from exile and championed their return to Jerusalem. Under the Shah’s dynasty, Iranians and Israelis shared deep bonds of friendship, diplomacy, and commerce. But every so often, destroyers like Haman and Khamenei arise to shatter that unity only to fail utterly in the end.
These parallels are no mere coincidence. They are profound symbols, woven into anniversaries that ignite sentiment and resolve. Purim 2026, spanning from sunset on March 2 to nightfall on March 3, arrives amid thunderous echoes of that biblical drama.
As Netanyahu recently evoked the Battle of Haifa, honoring Jewish and Indian heroes while remembering Iranian soldiers who fought bravely, it was a deliberate nod to shared humanity.
